Activities
Sit and Sew
Sit and Sew is a get-together via Zoom every Friday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. You can sew in your own space and talk, listen, and get to know other quilters in CCQ. It’s also a great way to ask questions and get recommendations for quilts, and solutions to quilting problems. The Zoom meeting link is located in the Members Only section of the website.
Retreats
Each fall and spring we offer a retreat to our members. Retreats are a time for members to quilt “without distraction” if they so choose. Each retreat also offers a variety of classes, activities, and field trips for attendees. Housing and food is great! A retreat is a wonderful way to “get away from it all” and be with like-minded friends in a beautiful setting.
New Member Tea
Periodically we offer New Member Teas to introduce new members to all that the guild has to offer.
Small Groups
Guild members have formed many small groups, often with space for someone new. These small groups set their own meeting times and activities. It’s a great way to make friends. CCQ Members can now download the small groups list in the Members Only section.
Featured Artist Exhibit
We celebrate one or more of our members, showcasing their work at our annual quilt show.
Quiltfest Northwest - Annual Quilt Show
Quiltfest Northwest - Annual Quilt Show - more than 350 quilts on display at the Clark County Fairgrounds Event Center. The show includes 25+ vendors, classes by local and nationally known teachers, judging of quilts, and drawing the Opportunity Quilt* winner.
*Opportunity Quilt is made by members, with tickets being sold during the year and all proceeds go to a local charity. The winner of the Opportunity Quilt is chosen at the Quilt Show with a check to the local charity being presented at the next guild meeting.
Quilt Challenge
Participants make quilts using specific guidelines - themes, size, and/or fabrics. The public votes for the winners at the quilt show.
Mystery Quilt
This year the guild is doing the Indigo Way Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt. To receive the clues, go to Bonnie’s blog, https://quiltville.blogspot.com, and subscribe up to receive her blog posts.
