Comfort Quilts
Members make lovely quilts and throws from donated fabrics and services. The finished quilts are given to programs within our area that help children, teens, and adults in need. It takes many hands to make all the quilts that are requested. Some create kits for a specific pattern. Others pick up and sew tops. Another may do the long arming and someone else bind the quilts. You choose what and when you want to work on them. Non-members can join in the effort, too, if you have a friend who is looking for a quilting project. All of the fabrics, batting, backing, etc. are provided out of the vast stash that we have. Kits are available for home sewing.
Where Do our Comfort Quilts Go?
Some of the organizations we gift our quilts to are:
-
Van Care
-
Foster Kids
-
Nurse Family Partnership
-
Fisher House
-
Hospice Care

Each year, Comfort Quilts donates around 500+ quilts to Vancouver organizations!

In addition to Comfort Quilts, small groups support Project Linus, Veteran's Hospital, Quilts of Valor and others. We encourage you to get involved or start a new group to support your favorite charity!
Comfort Quilts Needs Your Help!

Each comfort quilt is the work of several volunteers, starting with those who choose and assemble the fabrics, those who piece the top, our longarm quilters, and others who do the final binding. The comfort quilts committee puts together kits for guild members to sew tops at home. Please feel free to email the committee if you would like to arrange to pick up a kit or two, help with longarm quilting, or finish a quilt with binding. All are needed!

Requested Quilt Sizes:
Comfort Quilts should be no smaller than 40" x 55" and no larger than 60" x 75". Anything in between is just fine.
